When we produce a slogan tee that might be duplicated, we make sure our graphic is the coolest.
There are other t-shirt sites that simply throw catchphrases on a t-shirt and put it up on their site. No thought, no creativity. If you need any examples, google GTL t-shirt and let me know what you find.
We labored for a while over whether or not to do a Guys GTL T-shirt. But when Chachi sent over this concept for the GTL t-shirt, it was no longer a question.

Anatomy of making a funny t-shirt

When we’re coming up with funny t-shirts, sometimes we think of a graphic and need the right text to accompany it, or sometimes we produce the text, but need to figure out the appropriate graphic. And sometimes, we get touched by the hand of god and produce both simultaneously.
Here a t-shirt slogan we’ve just revisited that we’ve been wanting to do for a while:
“Silent but deadly.” We could go with the tried and true graphic of a kung fu master. After all, if Beverly Hills Ninja taught us anything, its that ninja’s are silent but deadly.
But we came to thinking. What else is Silent yet deadly? Oh I know. Swine Flu.
And what epidemic is lacking in funny t-shirts? You guessed it. Swine Flu.
So How do we feel about that t-shirt? Graphic: Swine Flu. Text: Silent But Deadly.
Climbing the charts of Funny t-shirts
Thursday, October 15th, 2009Since Crooked Monkey is all about selling funny t-shirts and graphic t-shirts, we work hard to make sure that google recognizes our products. And recently we leapfrogged from page 6 to page 3 when you search for funny t-shirts in their search engine.
Thanks Google. But we’re not going to stop until we’re on page 1 when people search for Funny t-shirts.
And it’s not really for us–it’s for the public. People who search for funny t-shirts shouldn’t have to sift through all that crap until they find us. They should find us first–it’s just a more efficient use of their time.
