Crooked Monkey has come a long way. In 2005 we sold our first shirt. Out of the University of Maryland, we went door-to-door selling Fuck Duke shirts 🙂 . We hustled, got tossed out of dorm rooms and were chased by the cops thru the quad. I also met the girl who would end up becoming my wife.

We launched our first line of retail t-shirts that summer, drove up to Long Island (with all of our inventory in our trunk) and got picked up by National Jean Company – they ordered 5x our inventory.

In 2006 we landed our biggest milestone when Lord and Taylor picked up our t-shirt line.

With the Great Recession of 2008 a large portion of the 500 boutiques we worked with went out of business. And it forced us to sharpen our brand.

Funny t-shirts & graphic shirts

We expanded our line from only funny t-shirts to funny shirts and graphic shirts.

In 2012 a local Washington DC restaurant asked us to design their logo and shirts. That introduced us to the world of custom merchandise. And we haven’t looked back since.

In 2016 we become a design and custom merchandise company.

Our focus has always been on designing and producing beautiful, premium merchandise. The only difference is that now, we bring our clients’ branding and design needs to life.
